Even though the production version of Jaguar’s I-PACE concept car hasn’t been revealed yet (that happens on March 1st at the Geneva Motorshow), Jaguar wants Australians to know that it will go on sale down under in October 2018.
Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Jaguar Australia’s managing director Matthew Wiesner, said that not only will they bring the I-PACE to Australia more or less the same time as the rest of the world, but will also invest $4m in building charging infrastructure at all its dealerships. Hopefully Jaguar places them outside a locked gate, so other EV users benefit too.
For those unfamiliar with the I-PACE, it’s a mid-sized SUV with approximately 400-500km range thanks to a 90kWh battery, that can charge 80% in 90 minutes from a 50kW DC charger. Price is expected to be around $100,000.
