Hyundai confirms Kona EV to be available in Australia late 2018

Get excited small SUV fans, as Huyndai has confirmed that Australia will get an EV version of the Kona before the end of 2018.

The EV version will be formally announced at the Geneva Motorshow on the 27th of Feb, where Hyundai will explain that the Kona EV will be on the European and US markets in mid-2018.

It’s planned that the Kona will be approximately A$50,000 and achieve real world range of 300km (480km NDEC).

I’m a little skeptical of Hyundai here, considering the Ioniq still isn’t available in Australia despite it being available in NZ for months and elsewhere in the world for over a year. But hey, at least they’re thinking about it.
